[JAV Review] Sennou Drill Motor Show Campaign Girl Hen

I've been wanting to make a post about a JAV for a while, and what better opportunity than the release of a new entry in one of my favorite series?

Well, when jumping in to review a recent release (this came out last Tuesday) you win some and lose some. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's start with a quick rundown.

Synopsis: Hajime, a camera boy who chases after a Campaign Girl called Momo is at it again today photographing her at an event. However, he's so infatuated that he ends up waiting for her on the way home. Strongly reprimanded and made fun of by her co-workers Sora and Mion for being a creepy stalker, fury and humiliation swirl in Hajime's heart as he takes a Brainwashing Drill out of his backpack...

Sennou Drill is a series that has been running for some years now. It always involves a down on his luck or straight-up evil from the start character getting his hands on a drill notebook called Brainwashing Drill where he can write the names of women to force them to do any actions he wants. In the first few in the series, the notebook actually be like Japanese Kanji drill exercises, only you write the victims' names and perverted actions instead, but the series has long abandoned that for a more Death Note-esque freeform notebook where the character can write whatever. After enough training, it ends with the usual "when I cum inside you, you will become my slave" personality overwriting, though, unlike many similar JAV series, some girls cave in and start acting like slaves before the full brainwashing, which is always fun for variety. That's also the thing, except for one VR entry (which I have not watched as I don't own any VR gear, and I'm not a fan of the VR trend in JAV in general), all videos in the series feature at least 3 women, usually more.

The theme for this one is Campaign Girls. Think of it as the Booth Babes of old, only it's a tradition that persists in Japan, often with the sexy elements from decades prior toned down. But having beautiful women promoting your product at fairs and such is still a pretty common practice. They are often also called Companions. In this case, it's an auto sports expo with luxury cars (well, obvious fiberglass replies but let's suspend our disbelief for a bit) with 3 beautiful models. Among the enthusiasts taking pictures, there's an awkward guy called Hajime who is infatuated with one of the girls, Momo, and oversteps the line by talking with her repeatedly. The other two (Mion and Sora) find his behavior extremely creepy while Momo is more reluctant to call out the stalker behavior, which leads to her friends confronting and humiliating Hajime. Angry, he decides to try out the weird drill notebook he received from "that weirdo" (presumably the cloaked figure from previous entries), despite not putting much stock on it.

He starts with Mion, who is snapping some pictures for social media at the now empty expo hall. He writes down that she will kiss and lick his body wherever he tells her to, that she'll have sex with him, and that when he cums inside, she'll turn into his slave. Mion catches him sneaking around and starts giving him an earful before starting to kiss him. From there on the scene goes as you'd expect, with Mion fully aware and disgusted but unable to stop herself. Hajime gets gradually more bold and cruel as he gets confirmation the Drill works, ordering her to suck his dick and even lick his asshole, taunting her if she likes the smell when her nose dives between his cheeks.

Here comes my first issue with this JAV. There are three girls, but all 3 big solo sex scenes follow the same structure. It starts with the girl unwittingly servicing Hajime, to him teasing their erogenous zones and making them cum thorugh fingering and then having vaginal sex. It manages to make a relatively short JAV (clocking around 115 minutes) feel very repetitive.

It doesn't help that unlike in previous Sennou Drill entries, the mind control and corruption elements are rather weak. While there is some eager and harder sex after each girl becomes a slave, which I appreciate, there's no instance of the women setting up traps for their friends or acting really evil under the orders of their new Master. Previous entries and other mind control JAV from SOD excel at that, so it's somewhat disappointing. 

It's not all complaints, though. Usami Mion and especially Honda Momo sell the change in their character's behavior very well, making their enslavement very satisfying despite the sameness of the sex that came before. Anzai Sora is the weaker actress of the three, but the writing accounts for and compensates for that by giving her a role that, while following the structure described, deviates in attitude.

Hajime's orders for Sora are that she's in heat. So her arousal increases during even the first phase (where she gets fondled and gives a blowjob). They're also at a barely-hidden place, which adds to the thrill of the scene. After the first blowjob, Hajime takes the Drill and writes a new order (the only time he adds an order while interacting with the girls, too) that makes Sora want to suck his dick. So she gives another blowjob, this time extremely eager, and by the end, due to the previous command making her increasingly horny, she's completely onboard with the sex, so she doesn't need to act disgusted like the other two and it makes the gap between pre and post-enslavement much smaller (hence why I said the writing helps her more limited range). She even willingly agrees to become Hajime's slave in order to keep feeling good, which is pretty damn hot.

Momo like I said easily has the best range and really conveys the initial reluctance to speak out against Hajime, to her disgust towards his actions once he reveals it (while ranting delusionally that unlike Sora and Mion she is a kind person and thus doesn't need the reeducation) and later uses the Drill on her, to her extremely eager slave act. Good stuff.

During the Momo sex scene, there's also the only real interaction between the two enslaved girls and one undergoing the process, with Mion and Sora showing up in see-through, perverted race queen-style outfits and talking about how their Master's orders are absolute and that Momo will soon understand his greatness.

Dark makeup and outrageous clothes keep on being a hallmark of SOD's mind control JAV.

Once all the girls are enslaved, what follows is Hajime putting a private show for like-minded enthusiasts who also perv on the girls, where they don the aforementioned outfits, swear their undying allegiances to their Master, and pose for a photo op, making a delightful contrast to the modest photoshoot at the start.

After that, a lengthy (around 20 minutes) sex scene follows, and, being 4P, it's much more interesting to watch and doesn't suffer from the repetition problem the earlier scenes do thanks to more varied sex positions and the inclusion of the three girls doing stuff such as liking and kissing while one gets railed.

The gap between before and after corruption is the one thing I think JAV gets right much more often than manga and eroge.

This is not a bad JAV, it's just that its repetitiveness hurts it. If each girl had a more unique sex scene instead of following the same script, or at least if enslaved girls interacted more with the other targets, things would be more interesting. And I say that backed by the previous titles in the series lineup. But each actress still brings something unique to their scene and while Momo is definitely the highlight, I love slave Mion's more exaggerated expressions and the curveball with Sora's almost willing enslavement.

If you're a fan of Racing Queen aesthetic on top of being a mind control fan this is a must-watch. If not, I still think there's enough good sex and that the few scenes highlighting the mind control make it worthwhile, if run of the mill. If you were not familiar with the Sennou Drill/Brainwashing Drill series before this post however, I think your time is better spent seeking the previous entries.

The variety the rest of the movie lacks can be found in the final sex scene.

Pros:

• Honda Momo's acting really sells the gap between normal and slave selves.
• Racing Queen theme is unusual in the genre and the outfits featured are pretty sexy
• Good juxtaposition between the two photoshoot scenes showcasing the effects of brainwashing.
• Good 4P sex scene at the end

Cons:

• The rigid sex scene structure can make it feel longer than it is.
• Lack of interactions between the girls
• Lack of more scenes showing slavelike devotion from the girls
